Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Plateau of Faija
Departure in the morning from Marrakech to the plateau of Faija. We will pass by the Col du Tichka, the most beautiful and the highest road pass of Morocco to reach the city of Ouarzazate where we will have lunch. Then, passing by Col Ait Saoune we will arrive in the famous valley of Draa. We will discover ksars, these famous fortified villages, then Zagora which opens the doors to the great desert and finally the plateau of Faija where we will join our team of camel drivers. Night under the tents.
Faija Plateau - Oued Lemhasser
For the start of our trek in the desert, we will climb the small pass of Faija where we have a panoramic view of the plateau of Faija. We will discover a true mountainous desert (black mountains, with just a little greenery and some nomads under the Bedouin tents made of goats hair and camels.The lunch will be prepared next to the wells of Regabi.Then we will go down by the Oued Lemhasser to reach our camp Night under the tents and walk 6 hours during the day.
Oued Lemhasser - Chegaga Dunes
We will descend a beautiful desert valley before leaving to reach the huge desert which begins with a vast stony plateau. The panoramic view of the sand desert (with the dunes of Chegaga so small views from far away) is beautiful. At the end of the day, we will reach the dunes of Chegaga. It is a beautiful walk accompanied at the end of the day by the sunset. Night under the tents and 6 hours of walking.
Chegaga Dunes - Bougarn Dunes
Erg Chegaga continues with a multitude of small dunes, east of the Bani mountain, towards the small Saharan town of Mhamid El Ghizlane and the Oued Draa valley. Our lunch will be prepared by our cook under the tamaris, then we will continue to the dunes of Bouguern, a beautiful place, little attended. We will find enough dry wood to light a campfire. Night under the tents. 5h30 walk in the day.
Bougarn Dunes - Oued Naam Dunes
The awakening will be very early to enjoy the sunrise on the beautiful dunes of the desert. We will go through a flat desert of small stones and along a less stony plateau. We will refuel at the well on our way and we will reach the end of the afternoon the dunes of Oued Nâam to enjoy our evening meal. We will spend the night under tents in the beautiful dunes of Oued Nâam, where nomadic caravans come to supply water. 5h30 walk in the day.
Oued Naam - Zagora - Marrakech (445km).
End of our tour in the desert. After the farewell to our team of camel drivers, we will leave in 4 × 4 towards Ouarzazate, crossing the High Atlas by the Col de Tizi-N-Tichka to reach Marrakech (7 hours drive)
